E. L. Klein grew up in Grey County, Canada. He studied episodic television writing at the University of Toronto and creative writing under novelist Alonso Cueto. His work has been published in magazines across Canada including Acta Victoriana, The Northern Appeal, and The Antigonish Review. His travel writing has been published in InsideHook.

Since 2020, Klein has traveled extensively across Latin America and has lived in Mexico, Colombia, and Peru. He currently has two television projects under consideration in Mexico and the US, both of which he wrote and created. His bilingual short film HOUSE ON FIRE, which he wrote, directed, and produced, is set to be released in July 2025.
